We build fully reconditioned McLaren longblocks for customers who need real power and need it to hold. Our shop has been producing race engines and high-output road engines for over 27 years. Every engine we send out runs proprietary internal components machined to our own specs, including purpose-made pistons, connecting rods, and a billet crankshaft built to take loads the factory never accounted for.

McLaren M838T & M840T Platform

The M840T is a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-plane V8. McLaren introduced it in 2017 across the 720S, Senna, GT, and Speedtail as a significant step up from the 3.8-liter M838T used in earlier cars like the 650S and 675LT. That earlier motor itself had roots in a Le Mans Nissan engine architecture with Mitsubishi EVO-sourced turbos carrying over into the design.

The 720S found its crowd quickly. On drag strips it went door to door with Nissan GT-Rs and Audi R8s while holding its own identity through a recognizable exhaust note. EKanoo Racing was among the first shops pushing the platform hard, running 8.85 seconds at 159 mph with performance downpipes, air filters, a tune, and MS109 fuel.

As more owners started modifying their cars, the failures started showing up too. Teardowns on high-output builds pointed to the same things: excessive oil consumption, early wear, and bent connecting rods. The OEM internals were not built for that kind of load, and McLaren was not offering replacement parts at the time. That gap is what led us to develop this program.

The Motek EuroWerkz Engine Program

Motek EuroWerkz has been building race engines and high-performance road engines for over 27 years. When the McLaren twin-turbo platform started showing up in shops with recurring internal failures, we put that experience to work developing parts that actually solve the problem. That means proprietary pistons, connecting rods, and crankshafts machined to our specs, along with improved cylinder liners, head gaskets, precision fasteners, and every other component needed to keep a high-output build together long term.

Every engine that leaves our shop is a complete sealed longblock. No short blocks. You send us your core, we tear it down, recondition everything, and rebuild it to the spec you choose. You get the engine back fully assembled with timing components installed and valve covers and engine covers in place. We also do M838T 3.8L to M840T 4.0L conversions for customers who want to take that step.

A complete engine refresh using our proprietary pistons and connecting rods. Stage 1 is the right call for most high-output street and circuit builds where you need a solid, reliable foundation without going into full race territory. Part No: MMEENG7250

Stage 2 Up to 1,500 HP Capable

A full rebuild that goes further than Stage 1. You get our proprietary pistons, crankshaft-guided connecting rods, a billet crankshaft, upgraded fasteners, and a complete engine gasket set.
